Life's Little Adventures

Saturday night was just like any other night except for the fact that Sara and I were home alone and we needed something to keep us entertained. When you put the two of us crazy girls together it's not really that hard to entertain ourselves. We decided (as inspired my my grandpa I believe but I haven't actually told anyone that) to make a sign to put in our window.

People seem to get some good laughs out of it. I wonder how long we'll keep it there... Anyway, the other part of the plan was to put awesome pictures of ourselves up with the sign. I wasn't really in a mood for having my picture taken because my hair looked bad. But we ended up taking some crazy pictures as well as some good ones.

Sunday was an awesome day because it was my birthday! Huzzah! I got to wear a new outfit which is always fun. I got to go to Stuart and Laura's where we decorated cupcakes, ate swedish meatballs (YUM!), and took all sorts of crazy cool pictures. It was tons of fun!

However, Laura should have known better than to let me handle a knife.....

Good thing that's really just frosting on the knife....

When I got back to my dorm I learned that someone had left a package of Kissables and a note for us. The note told us to go to the Sunrise apartments for more "kissables". Creepy.... Sara and I decided to go anyway and we made Mary come with us. When we get there we find out that someone had left a similar notes to other girls on campus and the guys whose apartment it was had no idea what was going on. They were very nice about it though and let us have some banana bread! The funny thing was that one of the guys was from my social dance class. Wierd. So that's the unsolved mystery of the week.

In other news, I just got asked out on a date this morning and I'm excited!!

Insomniac

Maybe this is why I'm so tired all the time....

Naw that can't be it. Just because I'm up to like 1:00 in the morning everyday doing things such as that which is depicted above doesn't mean I should be tired all the time. To bad I can't put the videos on here unless I put them on youtube first (Sara would kill me if I put them on youtube). They were pretty hilarious except for maybe Mimi who was sleeping during these events...

I'm Addicted to Family History

I spend many hours looking up my ancestors. Right now I mostly have names and dates but it would be wonderful to find stories/documents. I have hit a few roadblocks but I'm determined (and hoping) that I will find them. Their bound to show up mysteriously someday. Well, I'm going to go back to finding more people! You should try it too. You'll see how addicting it is.

If anyone has any information on Jackson Edward Malone (b. 1900 in Kentucky, served in WWI, married to Josephine Elizabeth Davis) or his parents Joseph Martin Malone and Flora Newton I would love to share information! Leave me a comment or e-mail me. Thanks!

Ich liebe musik!

Last night Sara and I went to a performance by the Vienna Choir Boys. They make singing look so easy. They were really good. I really like seeing all these concerts and things here at BYU-I for a cheaper amount than I could prabably see them anywhere else! I love student discounts! Anywho, I managed to find an entertaining video that will show you a little of what I heard last night. The song they sing in the video was actually the first song the choir performed last night. Enjoy!

Zzzzzzzz

I can't seem to get into bed before midnight. I'm swamped with homework and I struggle to focus and get it done during the day. It never happens! I'd like to blame Sara and say that she is the cause for my sudden break out of ADD but that just wouldn't be fair to her. So I'm so darn tired, apparently my eyes are bloodshot, and I still have homework to finish! I'm calling it quits. I'll force myself to get out of my bed tomorrow and finish my homework before my first class and squeeze in studying for a test I have to take tomorrow. I've probably lost a year of my life because of my lack of sleep. Someday I will make it to bed by ten. Someday....

Thank goodness for presidents though! We have a whole day dedicated to them which means I have a whole three day weekend to catch up on homework and sleep! Hazzah!

Tis the season to be...

This thursday is Valentine's Day (or singles awareness day, which ever one floats your boat). I think that I know more people who hate February the 14th than people who look forward to it. Heck, I just look forward to it because it means candy and ten more days till my birthday! Haha I'm so selfish. Actually, I've come to a conclusion. Valentine's Day isn't just a day for couples to buy each other gifts or go on a date. It isn't just a day for singles to mope either. Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate all relationships and to be grateful for the friends and family that you have. It's a day to call people up or leave little messages just to let someone know you are thinking about them and that you care about them. So on Thursday I most likely won't be going on a date or receiving gifts but I'm not going to sit around moping either because I have wonderful friends and family and I'm going to celebrate their existence and the fact that they put up with me! So happy Valentine's Day everyone. Eat lots of sweets and watch a bunch of chick flicks with your friends!

Rexburg Temple

Today was the Rexburg temple dedication. My roommates and I went and watched the broadcast of it in one of the buildings on campus. The new prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, was there with Elder Bednar and Elder Nelson as well as Elder Costa. I don't really know what to say about it. It was a wonderful experience.

Midnight Snacks

Well as you know by now, the snow is our constant companion here at BYU-I. A few nights ago, those who were brave enough went to the upper level of the dorms and jumped from the railing into the snow. Mary was the only one brave enough to do it. I managed to get a picture of her right before she hit the snow.

It was after this moment that our Dorm Mom came out and got after everyone. I missed the lecture since we (Mimi, Sara, and I) went back inside because it must look kind of wierd for us to be staring at people from our doorway.

At about midnight, Mary was trying to finish her homework so Sara and I tried to help her by singing a whole bunch of girl's camp songs and such. Mary finally said, "I'll pay you 10 bucks if you do a face plant in the snow right now." She took back her offer but we decided to do it anyway (and now she owes me muffins!!). So without changing clothes or even putting shoes on, I'll show you what happened through pictures.

Oh man that was so cold. My toes hurt so bad!!!! After that I decided I still needed some sort of entertainment so I dared Sarah to eat a pickle with whipped cream on top. I guess my insanity was rubbing off on her last night because she did it.

She said it really wasn't so bad. Like the inquisitive person that I am, I of course got out a pickle and whipped cream for myself. That was pretty darn gross! Not the most disgusting thing I've eaten but definitely worse than cheetos in pudding, pickles in milk, strawberries in ketchup, and a mayonaise, pickle, peanut butter, and cheese sandwich (which honestly isn't nearly as bad as it sounds).

Mom and Dad

I've been inspired by all of Laura's family stories and old family photos. So I decided to put an old photo of my parents on here too!

YUM!

You Are a Banana
You are mellow, easy going, and a total softie on the inside.People find it really easy to get along with you. You suit most tastes.
And while you're very sweet, you're not boring or ordinary. You have an attraction to the exotic, and you could show up anywhere... doing almost anything!
You are spirited, energetic, and a total kick to be around. You're also quite funny. Your sense of humor is on the goofy side, and it fits you well.

Snow and Boob Cake

It never stops snowing.....

Everyday

there's a little more

snow.....

Mimi climbed into the snow outside our dorm. She's actually kneeling in this picture but she's not touching the ground. She's kneeling on the snow that has been there since the beginning of semester. I never thought I would miss the Washington rain. My feet are drying out this semester. That has never happened to me before. It's kind of wierd.

February 1st was Mimi's birthday. We'd already sort of had a birthday shin dig at her friend Megan's home but we needed to throw a celebration of just us roommates. Apparently mimi means boobs in mandarin Chinese so Mary decided to make Mimi a boob cake.

We kept it on Sara's bed all day to hide it from Mimi. Sara swears she's going to have nightmares now. It is rather disturbing but it was also rather tasty.
